Welcome to Fitness Paws! We value your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, store, and share your information when you use our services through our website or mobile applications.

1. Information We Collect

• Account Information: Name, email address, password, and profile data (including pet profiles).
• Activity Data: GPS data, workout routines, fitness goals, distance walked/run, calories burned, and pet activity data.
• Google Health Data: When you connect Fitbit with Google Health, we request read-only access to activity and fitness records and, if you approve it, exercise location data such as GPS routes. This can include exercise type, timestamps, duration, distance, pace, speed, calories, elevation, route coordinates, and source-device metadata.
• Connected Account Data: We store the Google account identifier, OAuth access and refresh tokens, granted scopes, token-expiration information, and sync status needed to maintain the connection you requested.
• Device & Usage Information: IP address, browser type, device identifiers, operating system, and usage statistics.
• Photos & Media: Uploaded images or media files of pets or activities (with user consent).
• Social Interaction Data: Content you create such as posts, comments, reactions, and messages shared with other users within the app.
• Payment Information: If applicable, we may collect limited payment details via secure third-party processors.
• Membership Information: For optional Plus purchases, we store the purchase provider, product, transaction identifier, membership status, renewal preference, and verified access dates. We use a random account identifier to connect native purchases to your Fitness Paws account.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide and improve our fitness tracking and wellness services.
• To personalize your app experience based on user and pet preferences.
• To send notifications, updates, and reminders.
• To provide customer support and respond to inquiries.
• To monitor usage, detect fraud, and ensure the security of our services.
• To import, synchronize, display, and analyze the Google Health workouts you choose to connect, including calculating workout summaries and showing route maps when location permission is granted.
• Content you choose to share publicly or with other users is used to enable social features and may be visible to other users based on your privacy settings.

3. How We Share Your Information

• Third-Party Services: We may share data with analytics providers, cloud hosting services, and payment processors strictly for service functionality.
• Membership Providers: Web checkout uses Stripe; we send Stripe your account email and a billing identifier. Apple and Google Play handle purchases made through their respective app stores. RevenueCat helps verify native purchases and restores using a random Fitness Paws account identifier, purchase information, and technical app/device information. Our billing integration does not send your pet care records, fitness logs, photos, messages, or health data to RevenueCat. Payment card details are entered with the purchase provider, not stored by Fitness Paws.
• Google Health Data: We do not sell Google Health data or use it for advertising. We disclose it only to service providers acting on our behalf as needed to operate and secure Fitness Paws, when you direct us to share a workout through a visible app feature, or as otherwise described below.
• Legal Requirements: We may disclose data when required by law or in response to legal processes.
• Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale, your data may be transferred as part of the transaction.

4. Data Retention

We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to provide our services and as required by applicable laws. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us or through in-app account settings where available.

Disconnecting Fitbit with Google Health removes the stored Google Health connection and stops future synchronization. Workouts already imported into Fitness Paws remain available so that disconnecting does not unexpectedly erase your activity history. You can delete imported workouts individually, or delete your Fitness Paws account to delete the imported workouts and other account data, subject to limited legal, security, and backup-retention obligations.

5. Security Measures

Deleting a Fitness Paws account does not automatically cancel a subscription held with a purchase provider. You can review cancellation options in Manage membership. Purchase providers may retain transaction information under their own retention and legal obligations. Contact us about a membership-data deletion request or a purchase you can no longer access.

We use HTTPS for data in transit, restrict access to personal data, and use technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, use, alteration, loss, or disclosure.

6. Google Health API Limited Use

Fitness Paws handles information received from Google Health API under the Google Health API Developer and User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. Google Health data is used only to provide or improve the visible fitness features you request in Fitness Paws. We do not use Google Health data to determine eligibility for insurance, credit, employment, housing, or similar decisions, and we do not use it for targeted advertising.

7. Your Rights

You may have the right to:

• Access or correct your personal data
• Request deletion of your account or specific information
• Withdraw consent for data processing
• Object to certain types of data use

8. Children’s Privacy

Our services are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children without verifiable parental consent.

9. Cookies and Tracking

We may use cookies and similar tracking technologies to improve user experience, analyze trends, and personalize content.

10. International Data Transfers

If you are accessing our services from outside the United States, please be aware that your data may be transferred to and processed in the U.S.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any significant changes will be notified to users via the app or email.
